Cheese Menu

(£2.50 Supplement)

A Selection of the following specifically chosen by Head Chef and his Kitchen Brigade consisting of cheeses from the British Isles and France
 ~
Tunworth ~ semi soft cheese, English, Hampshire
Tunworth is probably England's best rival to Camembert. This soft white cheese has a luxurious,
creamy centre with the same mushroomy aromas and flavours as it's French counterpart.
~
Ossau iraty ~ Ewes Milk ~French, Ossau (Basque region)
Ossau-Iraty is complex and includes an edible slightly white-moldy tart rind which adds considerably to the experience. This is a creamy, not bitter, not overly sweet, perhaps slightly nutty cheese with a gentleness and ability to please. It finishes richly and smoothly. Ossau won best cheese in the world in 2011
~
Shropshire Blue ~ Derbyshire
Blue with an orange hint, cow’s milk cheese from the award winning Cropwell Bishop Dairy.
~
Mull of Kintyre ~ Cheddar ~ Kintyre, Scotland
Best vintage cheddar 2012 International Cheese Awards
Incased in black wax, Mull Of Kintyre is an extremely tasty mature farmhouse cheddar with a long
moist and buttery flavour

Rachel ~ washed rind goats cheese ~ White lakes, Somerset
Rachel is the only washed rind goats cheese in the UK, soft in texture.
White Lake's Pete Humphries says that "Rachel was named after a friend of mine - like the cheese she is sweet, curvy and slightly nutty".
~
Epoisses ~ Cote D’or ~ France
Pungent unpasteurized cows-milk cheese. Smear-ripened and washed in marc de Bourgogne,
the local pomace brandy
